After a few delays and some last-minute changes to the fuel system so that the engine could draw fuel up the 8-inches between the tank-bottom and the spraybar, the first flight of the pulsejet-powered World Models TameCat has happened.

It's sure not lacking in power (10lbs thrust versus 7lbs flying weight) and it was damned fast!

Despite being a mild-mannered pussy-cat when powered by a regular glow-engine it's very apparent that under full jet-thrust I'm going to have to cut back the elevator throw a little. The TameCat is such a big pussy to fly once the power's off though - landing is a breeze!

The engine switched to lean-mode short-cycling when I pulled high-G's in the second turn so I'll have ti increase the fuel pressure some more and reduce the size of the fuel-metering jet so as to reduce the effect of hi-G's on fuel-flow.

With luck, I'll get the changes done and fly it again tomorrow!

Very nice video. Cool idea to put a pulse jet engine on a RC airplane and by the way is there any way to control the throttle like a regular jet engine.

Honestly, your comment is plain ignorance. Have you ever built one? Do you know how it works? No. Looking through your channel you have a lot of negative comments. You don't seem like a very positive or scientifically inclined person. Please feel free to build a working Pulse jet engine from scratch to disprove me. But until then, we'll keep watching you try to find this "free energy" thing that you keep searching for. (there isn't one, by the way.)

Yep, when a pulsejet stops -- it just stops. When a turbine flames-out there's a much higher risk of fire because for a short while there's a whole lot of unburnt fuel being pumped into the engine.

No different then a small jet turbine you see in other planes.Only you see them catching on fire way more then the pulse jet.

I've been building and running these thins (and *much* bigger ones) for years and never hurt anyone. They're no different to anything else -- you just need to know what you're doing to ensure safety. Check other vids on this channel and you'll see what I mean.

There too loud, dangerous, you can wind up burning up a field or house. They run wide open, There definatly a liability, You can easly burn yourself go ahead and wow your friends before you injure them with this device.
