I wish I could have seen him in that time period

Hi, welcome to Mike Oldfield's music Saxnima. Yes, it is a chord progression that Mike used to improvise over during part two of Tubular Bells when he played it live back in the day. The chord progression does not appear on the original studio version; he is just using creative license. There is a good interview segment of him explaining this on the Knebworth concert video.

This mix is definitely superior to the original on the album. It sounds a lot more balanced and cleaner. Brilliant stuff!

Cool. I used to always listen in the dark, late at night, through the earphones, to all Mike Oldfield albums on vinyl. This was way back in the early 1980's and I can still remember the trip into town to buy the brand new "Crises" album and having to walk all the way home because I'd spent all my pocket money on the album.... well worth every penny!

There is a version of Pekka's album called The Consequences Of Indecision that was marketed under mike Oldfield's name. I had a copy in the early 1980's on vinyl. There weren't many pressings with Mike's name on the cover, so it is now a collectors piece and probably worth quite a bit of cash. Wish I still had all my old vinyl records:-(

I still have Pekka's album on vinyl in the attic, but luckily I've been able to find quite a number of tracks on YouTube!

I know the feeling, I used to listen to it in the dark as well, while recently having moved to Hastings from Eindhoven. We moved back a year later, alas, even though I loved my time at Helenswood High School... Still, I managed to turn a couple of guys and gals to enjoy Mike's music as well, at that time.

Still a beautiful piece, especially because it contains the magical work/craft of Pierre Moerlen, r.i.p.

Amazing to see the actual live footage from 1979. I had the double Exposed album and would lie in bed listening to it, trying to imagine what the concerts would look like from the photos in the inner sleeve. Great that we can now see the original films. Still sounds fantastic even after all this time.

Does nothing! so you figured it out the puzzle to solve. a greeting.

I'm sorry, i'm new to Mike Oldfield. I just noticed that it is a part from Tubular Bells(part 2) right? It sounds so different from the studio version. Again, i'm very sorry.

Thank You so much for this upload! I have been listening this for last 30 years. For me, as a Finn, it also was a pleasure to see our 4-string magician, Pekka Pohjola (RIP, Pekka), in bass.

Je serais très curieux de voir "Hergest ridge" en spectacle avec un aussi bon son si ça existe?

Il faut bien admettre que le jeune Mike a créé un son,un style et ,en spectacle, est très intéressant à suivre...♥
